When I bought my first DSLR in 2011 I had no idea what lay ahead for me, yes I admit, I was one of those people who thought, 'yes I have an amazing, expensive, shiny camera, now I can take amazing pictures'. How very wrong could I have been! I very quickly came to realise that there was so much more to this than meets the eye, aperture, shutter speeds, ISO, ahhh my head was in noughts and I had no idea where to start!
I enrolled myself in a couple of local classes which got me off to a good start, I spent all my time practicing on any willing models. I also spent hours upon hours online watching tutorials, its amazing how many amazing and free resources there are online.
With photography there is always something new to learn, I find workshops are a great way to stay interested and to be inspired, I love trying new things and am always keen to learn. I believe no one could ever possibly know all there is to know about photography.
On Monday 11h May 2015, myself and fellow Photographer Judy Laing, headed down to Nottingham on a VERY SMALL Aeroplane to attend a course. Im a bit of a nervous flyer!
Here is the lovely Judy Laing, seriously one of the nicest ladies I have ever met.
We spent the best part of the afternoon taking photos of beautiful young Chloe, who was a natural in front of the camera.
As a mainly natural light photographer, I love placing my subjects under shade where the light is softer but here we were encouraged to place out subjects in full sun light and as you can see the outcome was beautiful.
All the courses/workshops that I attend help me to grow and help me to create beautiful photography for my clients to treasure..
I absaloutley love my job x
